Mockups and proof pages
Telling a business owner their website is holding them back rarely lands. Showing them is what changes minds. This guide covers the two pieces that do the showing: the mockup and the proof page.
The mockup
For any lead with a website, Matter Leads generates an AI redesign preview — a mockup of what a modern version of their site could look like, built from what's actually on the page today. It's not a generic template; it reflects the business's own name, industry, and content, so it reads as a real possibility rather than a stock example. Dropped into an email or shown on a call, the mockup is consistently the single biggest reason a prospect replies — it turns an abstract complaint about their website into a concrete "here's what this could be."
The proof page
Every lead also gets its own proof page: a public page that pulls together the top findings from the audit, the 0–100 score, and the mockup itself, all in one place a prospect can open and understand in under a minute. It includes contact buttons, including a direct way to book time with you, so a convinced prospect can act immediately instead of having to reply to an email first. You can share the link in outreach, drop it in a text or WhatsApp message, or hand it over in person — it stands on its own without any other context.
Links expire after 180 days
A proof page link stays live for 180 days from when it's generated. That's long enough to cover a full outreach cycle, follow-ups included, without leaving old links floating around indefinitely. If you need a fresh one after that window, generating a new mockup creates a new page.
You'll know when they're looking
When a prospect opens their proof page, that view shows up on your Today page. It's one of the clearest buying signals you'll get — someone looked at the exact evidence for their own business, right now. Treat it as a cue to follow up while it's fresh rather than waiting for your next scheduled touch.
Replies come back to you
If a prospect messages you from the proof page instead of replying to an email, that message lands in the same reply queue as everything else. You don't need to check a separate inbox or page for it — it shows up on Today alongside every other conversation waiting on you.
Where to go next
- Discover and score leads — how a lead gets its score and findings in the first place.
- Outreach, follow-ups, and replies — putting the mockup and proof page link into a message and handling what comes back.
- Plans and limits — how many mockups each plan includes per month.
