Getting started with Matter Leads
Matter Leads finds local businesses whose websites are weak or missing, builds the proof that they need a better one, and helps you turn that proof into a client. This guide walks through your first session end to end, so you know what to expect before you dive in.
What Matter Leads does
Most local businesses know their website isn't working for them — they just don't have proof, and nobody's shown up with the fix already built. Matter Leads closes that gap in three moves: it finds businesses in a category and city you choose, builds an AI redesign and a 0–100 site score for each one so the problem is visible at a glance, and drafts the outreach that puts the proof in front of the owner. You approve the first message; the app handles the rest, including reasonable follow-ups.
Your first session
Access starts with an invite. Once you request access and accept your invite, you land on the Today page — your command center for the workspace. Today surfaces exactly three things: replies waiting for a response, follow-ups that are due, and any hot leads worth acting on first. Nothing else competes for your attention here. If your workspace is brand new, Today will mostly be empty — that's normal, and it fills in as you work through the steps below.
Run your first search
Head to Discover, the page where new leads come from. Pick a business category (say, "dentists" or "roofers") and a city, then run the search. Discover shows you the yield before you commit to anything — how many matching businesses turned up and how many look worth pursuing — so you're not searching blind. Leads that come back are already scored: each one gets a 0–100 site score based on what's actually wrong with their current site (or whether they have one at all). Low scores are your best targets — they're the businesses with the most obvious case for a redesign.
Open a lead
Click into any lead and you get its full workspace: contact details, the specific findings behind its score (slow load times, no mobile layout, a dead contact form — whatever's actually broken), and a next best action that tells you exactly what to do next, whether that's sending the first email, following up, or reviewing a reply. You don't have to guess where a lead stands or what happens next — the workspace tells you.
Where to go next
A few things are worth setting up before you send your first message:
- Connect your mailbox — outreach sends from your own Gmail or Google Workspace inbox, not a shared one, so replies land where you already work.
- Verify your sending domain — sending stays locked until your domain checks out; this is what keeps your outreach out of spam folders.
- Discover and score leads — a deeper look at how searches, sources, and scoring work once you're past your first one.
- Outreach, follow-ups, and replies — how sequences, replies, and opt-outs work once you start sending.
Your trial
You start on a 14-day trial with monthly limits on leads and mockups — enough to run real searches, build real proof, and send real outreach before you decide on a plan. See the plans and limits guide for what's included and what happens as you approach a limit.
